Before SPPS Design Studio, there were Phataz Bags—one-of-a-kind creations born from the transformation of denim and other reclaimed textiles into something entirely new.
The Free Spirit is an original piece from that creative lineage.
Constructed from repurposed denim, the bag deliberately preserves the language of the garment it once was: original buttons, waistband construction, belt loops, contrast stitching and a functional jean pocket. A dramatic sweep of cognac fringe brings movement and warmth to the weathered indigo exterior.
Open the bag and another story emerges. A vibrant African-inspired print in saturated blue, orange, cream and black lines the interior and reappears on the detachable adjustable strap, creating a striking connection between inside and out.
Carry it by its integrated denim handle, over the shoulder, or crossbody.
